Helena Keaveney
Helena Keaveney was born and bred in Yoker (Glasgow) as anyone could tell by her lovely weegie accent. Helena obtained her MChem from Strathclyde University in 2020, during which she studied the use of polymeric nanoparticles to enhance the drug solubility of drug prednisolone for oral administration in paediatric patients, under the supervision of Dr. Clare Hoskins. She started working at Almac, manufacturing anti cancer and covid 19 vaccines where she gained experience in solid phase peptide synthesis. Her skills are now at good use in the Burley group where her PhD research focuses on the development of next-generation cell penetrating peptides for selective delivery of therapeutics.
