Théo Minetto

PhD student

About Me

Theo was born and raised in Rocbaron, France. He completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry at the University of Marseille, France. He completed a master’s degree in fragrances and fine chemistry at the University Côte-d’Azur in Nice and had the opportunity to work with Prof. Cyril Ronco for his final year project, where he focused on tubulin inhibition via non-resistance-inducing pathways by combining amidinourea-based small molecules and computational analysis to set the foundations for a new drug discovery platform. In 2025, Theo moved to Glasgow and joined the Burley Group to pursue his PhD, combining abasic nucleotides and 2′-modified small interfering RNAs for mitigation of off-target effects.

Personal Facts

Theo loves too many indoor hobbies for his own good, from painting and sculpting to programming and electronics. He also has a tendency to hyperfixate on anything from music groups to niche art pieces that only he considers “the pinnacle of humankind.” Spoilers: It’s a banana in a wooden frame.
