Rebecca Stevens obtained her MSci in Chemistry from the University of Bristol in 2021. During her degree, she carried out a year in industry within Discovery Chemistry at Evotec between 2019 and 2020. She is pursuing her doctoral studies as part of the Collaborative GSK/University of Strathclyde PhD Programme, where she is based in the Modalities Platform Technologies group at GSK and completed a placement in the Burley Group in July 2023. Rebecca's research focuses on developing new platform capabilities for direct-to-biology and their applications within TPD.

Personal Facts

Rebecca plays the piano and saxophone in the revered Hitchin Light Orchestra. She loves the outdoors, exploring ~3000 miles in 3 months during her placement with us in Glasgow!!

Professional Awards

She holds a prestigious Industrial Fellowship from the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, supporting PhD studies from 2023 to 2025.

Rebecca was also the winning entry of the Society of Chemistry in Industry (SCI) Scotland PhD Essay Competition 2022, with her article ‘A PROTAC-tical Synthetic Approach to New Pharmaceutical Modalities’ published in ‘Chemistry in Industry’ (C&I) magazine.
