Qualification:

Roderick Pieterjan Bunschoten was born in Doetinchem (The Netherlands). In 2017, he obtained his BSc in organic chemistry and analytical chemistry at Saxion University (Deventer). Undergraduate research projects included research on the design and synthesis of epigenetic inhibitors and mechanisms in organophosphorus catalysis under the supervision of Prof. Jasmin Mecinovic and Prof. Floris Rutjes at Roudboud University (Nijmegen), and the design and synthesis of epigenetic inhibitors targeting acute myeloid leukemia with Prof. Robert Liskamp at the University of Glasgow. He then continued his adventure in the Liskamp group as a research technician. Loving the Scottish and Glaswegian culture, Roderick joined the University of Strathclyde and the Burley group in 2018 where he has been exploring mechanistic studies on the copper-catalysed click reaction.
