Grant successes. The Burley group has been awarded a research grant from the Leverhulme Trust (PI Ian Eperon, Leicester) to investigate the functional roles of enhancer sequences in RNA splicing.

Ruggero Dondi joins the group

Ruggero Dondi has joined the group from Merck Pharmaceuticals in Geneva (CH). Ruggero is a chemistry graduate of the University of Pavia (IT) where he investigated DNA adduct formation arising from quinone methides. His PhD studies wil focus on the use of molecular recognition to construct DNA-programmed molecular electronic devices.

Best Poster prize for Stephen Gray

Stephen Gray won "Best Poster" at the 3rd Nucleic Acids Forum for his poster entitled: 'New Tools for Nanotechnology: Directing Functional Materials Along DNA Scaffolds Using Polyamides'. This annual, national symposium was held at the University of Reading and organized by the Nucleic Acids Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
